Bringing virtual critical care support to rural healthcare

Managing critically ill patients in smaller rural communities is thankfully quite an infrequent event. However, this also presents a significant challenge to rural providers with respect to maintaining a comfort level in the treatment of these very sick patients. The stresses such patients place on rural healthcare teams is enormous.
ROSe brings an unparalleled resource to rural sites by providing additional support and care in such difficult situations. By accessing ROSe, doctors in rural and remote settings have immediate access to experienced and compassionate critical care physicians.
As present, our focus is any rural physician in British Columbia and Territories with a phone or tablet with cellular or wifi connectivity. With the forthcoming release of our Nurses & Residents feature, ROSe will be extending support to medical residents and Outpost nurses in remote sites, providing the same level of exceptional care we currently offer our rural physicians.

ROSe is a care strategy that connects rural healthcare providers with instantaneous, 24/7 support — it’s a software platform powered by Critical Care physicians in collaboration with their rural primary care colleagues, with the mandate to support rural physicians in real-time.
As an App, ROSe connects rural physicians, intensivists and additional specialists through secure video chat with the touch of a button. Specialists are available to support rural providers as if they are at the bedside themselves, acting as colleagues and consultants for any issue at hand. After a call, a transcript of the consult is made available to place in the patient’s chart.
